Shabab Alahli head coach, Gerard Zaragoza held the prematch press conference heading to the first match of the new season against Aldhafra in the Arabian Gulf cup, accompanied by our player Majed Hassan.
Zaragoza started by mentioning that the game is the first after long time due to Covid 19, stating that the team was working very hard from July to prepare for the new season, and is ready to compete.
The coach assured that all the players are ready, and they worked hard during the preparations, he expressed his happiness with the high quality of the players he has in the team expecting good performance from the whole team in the new season.
Regarding the absence of the fans he said: “the players will not be affected with absence of the fans because we played some matches behind closed doors in the last season, but I hope the fans can come back to the stadium soon and support the players, sure we need them”.
About the new regulation of 5 substitutions in the match, Gerard Zaragoza said it is an advantage for all the teams, since it is too hot and having the chance of changing 5 players is good for him and the players.
The coach talked about his ambition with the team in the new season, he said: “we are Shabab Alahli, we are here to win, last season we were the champions even if we didn’t receive the trophy”.
He added: “for sure we have amazing and strong opponents, we respect them all, but will focus from the first day and work hard to be in the top”.
From his side Shabab Alahli player Majed Hassan stated that, the new season will be one of the toughest seasons, and most of the team will do their best to compete, after they singed good players and prepared themselves well.
Majed expressed his happiness for coming back to football, indicating that the preparations went well, under the new ambitious coach, promising to do the best they have to make the fans happy.
