Shabab Alahli returned to winning ways after defeating Kuwait SC 4-1 in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2024/25 Group D fixture at the Rashid Stadium on Wednesday.
The win put Shabab Al Ahli on top of the standings with six points ahead of Jordan’s Al Hussein, who defeated PFC Nasaf of Uzbekistan 2-1 in the group’s other fixture.
Mu’nas Dabbur played Harib Abdalla Suhail through into the box, forcing Kuwait SC keeper Abdulrahman Marzouq to produce a block. However, the rebound fell perfectly for Dabbur to finish the job in style.
Shabab Alahli scored second goal through Mateus Lima from the penalty spot in first half stoppage time.
Kuwait SC’s hopes of mounting a second half fightback were dashed in the 61st minute after a soft back pass from Meshari Al Enezi paved the way for Harib Abdalla Suhail to intercept the ball to tuck home past a rooted Marzouq.
Cracks began to appear in the Kuwait SC defence and they conceded a fourth goal four minutes later following a swift attacking move by Abdalla Suhail, who advanced into the box before squaring it to Eid Khamis to finish with a simple touch.
There was, however, some consolation for Kuwait SC with Yousef Al Sulaiman volleying home Mohamed Marhoon’s cross from the right in the 85th minute.
