Shabab Alahli were crowned as Arabian Gulf Cup champions, after winning Alnasr 5-4 on penalty shootouts, after the two teams played goalless draw at Sharjah stadium.
It is the second title in the current season 2020-2021, after winning Super Cup.
Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the UAE Football Association, handed over the cup and gold medals to Shabab Alahli players, in the presence of the great Egyptian star Moamen Zakaria, the guest of honor of the match.
Speaking at the post match press conference, Mahdi Ali, the coach of Shabab Alahli, expressed his happiness to achieve the second title with the team, indicating that the achievement is result of teamwork and cooperation of all departments in the club.
Commenting on the performance of his team in the match, Mahdi explained that it was closed match with few chances, pointing out that he made some changes to strengthen his front side after Alnasr player was sentoff.
Mahdi said, “I am happy to work with the current group of players, the administration, the technical staff and the management”.
