The win helped Shabab Al Ahli to claim first place in the standings with 18 points, surpassing Sharjah, who remain in second place with 15 points.
The two teams player goalless in the first half, and in 55th minute, Sardar Azmoun broke the deadlock with a brilliant long-range strike from just outside the box, giving Shabab Al Ahli a 1-0 lead.
Shabab Al Ahli doubled their lead in the 87th minute when they were awarded a penalty, calmly converted by Federico Cartabia to make it 2-0.
In the 97th minute of stoppage time, Guilherme Sucigan found the back of the net, reducing the deficit to 2-1.
However, the visitors ran out of time, and the match ended with Shabab Al Ahli clinching a hard-fought 2-1 victory, securing the top spot in the ADNOC Pro League standings.
