Mahdi Ali Shabab Alahli head coach assured that his team is ready for the first match in the AFC Champions League against Istiklol of Tajikistan.
speaking at the prematch press conference at the conference hall in king Fahd International Stadium, Mahdi admitted that the match is very important for his team, because it is the first in the group stage, and they need to get good result.
He said: “ the first match is the most important one in every competition, our main goal is to qualify to the next stage, we don’t have enough information about our opponent, but we are ready for the game, when you face a team that you don’t know much about you have to be careful”
Mahdi added: “our players have enough experience to play in Ramadan, fasting will not affect them that much, it is important to prepare your team well, it is the first match for our opponent in the AFC champions League I think they will be more motivated to give their best”.
Majed Nasser who accompanied the coach in the press conference congratulated Muslims all over the world, wishing them happy Ramadan, he said: “the match will not be easy for us, we are looking forward to win the game and collect first three points.”
